Ingredients:

– 1 cup boiled chickpeas (prepared from canned or dried chickpeas)
– 1/4 cup tahini (sesame paste)
– 1/4 cup olive oil (extra virgin preferred)
– 2-3 cloves of garlic (optional, you can adjust the amount according to your taste)
– juice of 1 lemon
– 1/2 teaspoon cumin (optional)
– Salt (according to your taste)
– 2-3 tablespoons of water (depending on need)

Preparation:

Wash the boiled chickpeas thoroughly in a colander and drain them.

Put the chickpeas in a food processor or blender.

Add tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic (optional), cumin (optional) and salt.

Blend with the blender or food processor until all the ingredients are well mixed and the mixture has a smooth consistency.

If the mixture is too thick and you want to make it smoother, adjust the consistency by adding water. You can add more water depending on the need.

Place the hummus in a serving bowl.

Drizzle with olive oil and add a little more cumin if you wish.

Chill the hummus in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Serve cold.

You can serve the olive oil hummus with fresh vegetables, spread on pita bread or bread, or as an appetizer.
